Richard Sharpe
and the
Waterloo Banquet of 1822

Novel by Paul Kaster
Based on Characters created by Bernard Cornwell and Dewey Lambdin

Preface and Acknowledgements

Sharpe’s Banquet is for

Sable Crow who supports my fanfiction with her website SharpeTales.net and suggested some of the story line I used here.

And

Marcus Cribb who is a researcher and writer of the life of the Duke of Wellington and the Peninsular War and former manager of Apsley House, the home of the Duke of Wellington.

And

Bernard Cornwell who brought Richard Sharpe into our world.

This is a work of fiction. The characters, incidents and dialogues are products of the author’s imagination and are not to be construed as real. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead is entirely coincidental.

Author's Note: When the BBC produced Banquet, the episode was not based on a book by Bernard Cornwell. While the episode’s descriptions of Sharpe’s life as a child deviates significantly from the books, I always thought that it was a story that would add to the Sharpe story. In 2016, while being treated for cancer, I decided to write the book and place it within the Sharpe books world.
